Welcome to Muddy River Dachshunds, a quality AKC dachshund breeder offering miniature and tweenie dachshund puppies for sale. Home of the best herding and hunting dogs around! Muddy River Dachshunds strives to produce beautiful dachshund puppies with sweet family temperaments in excellent health. All dogs were screened by the kids and I for family temperaments before adding them to our breeding program! All of our breeding dogs are AKC registered and Some of our dogs even come from Championlineage.

Muddy River dachshunds usually range in size from miniature size (8-11 lbs) and tweenie size (12-15 lbs) however sizes can always vary because ALL dachshunds were originally bred down from standard dachshunds and years and years of genetics can always affect size with any breeder.

We are a small family owned and operated dachshund breeder located in south Texas, right on the border of Floresville and Poth, Texas. We raise cattle, raise and train horses, and exclusively breed dachshunds. Dachshunds are such a lovable breed....ALWAYS entertaining, and stubborn as a mule! 🤪 

We came up with the name “Muddy River Dachshunds” because our dogs were always swimming in the San Antonio river, the pond, and water troughs and came back home filthy and MUDDY! 🤦‍♀️🤣 

 

Please note:

We DO NOT breed a bunch of other breeds of dogs, our specialty is concentrated on one breed, THE DACHSHUND!

We DO NOT breed toy or micro Dachshunds!

We DO NOT breed standard dachshunds which range in size from 16-32lbs!

We DO NOT breed double dapples!

We DO NOT breed out our females or stud out our males to other people’s dogs. 
NO FULL AKC- no breeding rights

 

Dachshunds hold a special place in our hearts and they are known by many names...such as hot dogs, wieners, oscar meyer dogs, doxies, and weenie dogs to name a few :) They are the sweetest and funniest dogs around! And once you get one, you will of course want more! They are like kids, no two are the same but each and every one will bring a smile to your face, and always attempt to brighten their humans day! Dachshunds are a good heartwarming addiction...you can never have just one 😁! But don’t worry....we won’t ever judge you!!! My husband calls me the stinky crazy dog lady...heck I’m ok with it! 🤷‍♀️😊

 

 

Muddy River Dachshunds currently offers short hair ,and  long hair dachshunds only.  All of our puppies are sold as pets only (no papers) or with limited AKC on a spay/nueter contract. Our dachshunds come in a rainbow of colors (check out our 2 photo galleries 😍)  You can find them in Black and Tan or Black and Cream, Isabella and Tan, or Isabella and Cream, Blue and Tan or Blue and Cream, Red tones like ee red to shaded reds, Chocolate and Tan or Chocolate and Cream and Shaded Cream and EE Cream. In addition to the beautiful colors, they can also come in patterns like dapples and piebalds!

 

All of our puppies are raised like the children...spoiled ROTTEN! They are all played with daily. We live on a 140 acres and we have plenty of room for all of our doggies! You can see from our photos that my dogs are not kenneled up all day like many breeders. We do have kennels to separate dogs for breeding times and dogs in heat, however our dogs are never left up in kennels all day. Some leave them caged up all the time, it is sad. My dogs have large yards and they are let out to run the ranch during the day. They will come back smelling like skunk 🦨😳 ....a few acrobatically climb up in the trees trying to catch cats or coons 🤦‍♀️....a few of our dogs like to ride along on the ranger, some lounge indoors on the couch all day, some herd, hunt and swim, and some like to bark at the cattle and horses ALL day! :) All the dogs like to chase the donkey and they are very lucky the donkey isn’t a really mean donkey! New litters are always raised indoors and are interacted with daily! We make sure all our puppies receive excellent nutrition with grain free puppy food,  get daily socialization, and are wormed and up to date on vaccinations before leaving.

 

We are located on the beautiful "muddy" San Antonio River. (Texas) We are located about 40 minutes from south side San Antonio border, and hour/hour half from downtown depending on traffic, about 2 1/2 hours from Houston and about 1 1/2 - 2 hours from Corpus Christi and coastal areas. We are a couple hours from Austin. We are about 4 hours from Ft Worth and Dallas areas. For clients who want to fly in, we can meet at the San Antonio airport (SAT) and also can recommend puppy nanny's if you need transport.
